A Commitment
to the Environment

We are committed to continuous improvement - benefiting our customers, stakeholders, our community and the environment we all share.

Recent capital improvements totaling nearly $23 million to our Cambridge, Ohio operations include:

A 60,000 square-foot completely enclosed raw material storage building, completed in 2000.
Environmental benefit: Raw materials are kept entirely under cover, reducing dust and contact with the environment.

The addition in August of 2001 of a new baghouse for our #2 electric arc furnace room, and improvements to our #1 baghouse unit. The baghouses are enclosed to prevent dust from coming into contact with the environment.
Environmental benefit: This advanced emission control system improves the capture of particulate and creates a cleaner work environment.

A new briquetting press installed in January, 2002.
Environmental benefit: Dust-producing materials are compacted into uniform briquettes for cleaner, safer processing.

The addition of a new flue gas desulfurization unit to our raw material roaster.
Environmental benefit: The unit captures sulfur from certain raw materials and permits greater flexibility of raw material types to be safely used.

These improvements demonstrate our long-term commitment to providing an environmentally responsible solution to the consumption of secondary metal-bearing raw materials.

Metallurg Vanadium's unique pyrometallurgical process offers a state-of-the-art, environmentally sound disposition solution for metal-bearing industrial by-products, including fly ash and most types of spent hydroprocessing catalysts.
