For the seventh consecutive year, AMG Vanadium provided financial support to enrich the academic experience at Buckeye Trail, John Glenn and Meadowbrook high schools.

Each school received a donation of $1,000 designated for their math and science departments. Cambridge High School representatives were unable to participate in the May program, but will be touring the facility in June and receiving a check at that time.

AMG Vanadium President Hoy E. Frakes Jr. and other company representatives hosted principals and guidance counselors from local high schools for a company overview, plant tour and discussion about career opportunities recently.

A strong supporter of education, AMG Vanadium routinely conducts plant tours, offers internships to local students and provides financial support to local high schools and colleges.

"Education, particularly a sound math and science education, is very important to us, both now and as we look to the future. At AMG Vanadium, we have a number of highly technical positions, and it's important for our employees to be able to conduct basic math equations as well as possess higher level analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills learned through the math and science disciplines. These skills are critically important for local companies like ours to compete in a global marketplace," said Frakes.
